Dribbling through cones

"I never practice tricks. I play very simply.
That's what it's all about. Playing simple football
is the hardest thing."2
Johan Cruyff

In this drill the players have to dribble the ball through a series of cones. Perhaps they can only use the outside of their feet or just the left foot. But is the technique tied to a soccer objective? Will the players gain any insight into the game? Will they develope an understanding with a team mate? Shouldn't dribbling be employed with team mates and opponents in the picture? Will they enjoy this? Does this require a soccer coach? Is it soccer?
